This Very Website

Welcome to exactly right here(!)

It looks like this:

Is it meta if it's untrue? Photo source

This site is a little bit like:

  1. Seeing an empty bird's nest now that the leaves have all fallen.
  2. That thing where you left your keys somewhere, but you're confident it was somewhere nearby so you don't bother looking for them but you still don't know where they are.
  3. Narnia

Note: your keys were on the bathroom counter for some reason.

Can We Justify This Kind of Behavior?

I created this website today! It's been incredibly fun relearning HTML, though a lot of what I've learned is brand new to me, so that's been really exciting, too.

I've been seeing people talk about neocities and building old school style personal sites, and paired with the news of how horrible most social media sites are becoming, I've been wanting to create a site like this.

But it wasn't until David Lynch passed away, and there was a discussion about how important his worldview is to our culture, that I finally jumped into this project. We should all be making personal stuff. For yourself, but also for David Lynch.

I couldn't have done this without Blake Watson's fun, approachable HTML tutorial HTML for People. Thank ou for your aweosme, helpful work, Blake!

"...If you sit quietly like you're fishing, you will catch ideas. The real beautiful, big ones swim kind of deep down there, so you have to be very quiet and wait for them to come along." — David Lynch
